The Gifford’s Ice Cream Story

Gifford’s Ice Cream was founded in May, 1938, by our founder’s grandfather and closed in 1985 after our founder’s father vanished. Few knew the dark history behind the company and the family that founded it until 2017, when Andrew Gifford published We All Scream, a memoir charting his life as the heir to a doomed ice cream empire in the Washington, DC area. What starts out as a personal memoir turns into something of a detective story as Andrew attempts to unpack and explain the criminal actions of his shattered family. A Facebook group dedicated to collecting photos and stories from the original Gifford’s era can be found right here while the memoir is available everywhere books are sold in print, ebook, and audio.

We are also selling the last few copies of the very last Gifford’s Ice Cream advertisement. This highly collectible item comes with a certificate of authenticity, is printed on heavy card stock, measures 22" x 30.5", and are all in mint condition.
